KDL Plainfield Stairwell Mural

Client: Kent District Library Plainfield Branch • Plainfield, MI • 2025

Kent District Library Plainfield Branch approached me with the opportunity to activate the stairwell leading to their basement program room. My vision was to transform the space into a vibrant portal to a faraway literary wonderland. Inspired by the adventures of reading, I incorporated characters being whisked away by the magic of a good book. Nods to familiar stories are sprinkled throughout, as well as numbered stairs to engage KDL’s youngest visitors. This design aims to remind us that adventure can be found in the most unexpected places, all thanks to books!
